About

Built by people who did the close by hand

Remitloom was founded in Chicago in 2024 to give startup and SMB finance teams the reconciliation automation that only enterprise companies could previously afford.

Our story

Why we started Remitloom

Before starting Remitloom, our founders spent years inside startup finance teams watching controllers spend two weeks every month hunting discrepancies between bank statements and the general ledger. The work was manual, exhausting, and entirely automatable.

Large enterprises had reconciliation platforms costing six figures per year. Startups had spreadsheets. We built Remitloom to close that gap: the same AI-powered matching and exception triage that the Fortune 500 uses, priced and packaged for finance teams of two or five people.

We're bootstrapped, Chicago-based, and focused exclusively on making the monthly close faster and more defensible for finance teams who run lean. No outside investment, no growth-at-all-costs culture: just a product that works reliably every night and documentation your auditors will accept.

Our values

How we build and operate

Accuracy before speed

A reconciliation system that runs fast but misses exceptions is worse than a slow one. We optimize for match accuracy first, then for speed. Our nightly run completes in under 10 minutes for most customers, but we'd run it for 4 hours if that's what correct required.

Audit-first documentation

Every action in Remitloom produces a paper trail. We don't decide after the fact what to log; we log everything by design. When an auditor asks for documentation, your answer is "export it from Remitloom", not "let me compile that from five places".

Lean by default

We're bootstrapped because we believe the best finance software is built by people who respect the operational realities of small teams. We don't build features for press releases; we build features our customers ask for because they're stuck without them.

Transparent pricing

Finance professionals deal with enough hidden fees and contractual surprises. Our pricing is listed on the website, includes everything we described, and doesn't require a discovery call to find out the real number. If the price changes, we give 90 days notice.
